About Me

Katherine E. Sachs

Katherine Sachs is currently in her 5th year of study at the Pennsylvania State University. She will finish her Bachelors of Architectural Engineering degree in 2018 in the construction option. She is a member of Students Performing and Achieving Construction Excellence (S:PACE), Society of Women in Engineering (SWE) and Student Society of Architectural Engineering (SSAE).

 

As her main focus is in construction, she has spent the past two summers gaining experience in the construction field working for Skanska USA, a large General Contractor. She interned on a mix-use office building in Washington D.C. that in her first summer she help initiate project start up procedures like writing and executing site safety and security plans. Her second summer she spent assisting with project bidding and corresponding RFIs and Submittals to the owner. She looks forward to working full time in the industry and hopes to work on a wide variety of projects in her career.

 

Outside of the classroom, Katherine participates in a wide range of activities on campus. She has been a member of Omega Phi Alpha Service sorority for the past four years where she has played an active role in the community and earning well over 100 hours of community service a year. This past year she has been actively involved in the Penn State community as a 2017 Homecoming Competition Captain acting as a liaison between the competing organizations and Homecoming. She also very active in THON and was a Rules and Regulations committee member this past year.
